Mc Donalds

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

I had Mc Donald’s for lunch yday.
I ordered thru the delivery service.
I ordered the chicken foldover and they gave me a fllet-o-fish.
After i finished that damn burger only the delivery guy came back and said he gave me the wrong one. AND he din even give me a straw for my damn coke! I looked at the receipt, the delivery came frm d’sara uptown. WTF! I am in Bdr Utama and Centrepoint is so near. How come they didn’t send frm Centrpoint?

It was raining the evening just now and had no choice, so i ordered McDonalds again. yes, i had my chicken foldover this time.

yes, McDonalds again!!!

This is another addiction. A dangerous addiction apart frm smoking.
Ah…i hate McDonalds!!!!
Maybe i shud change to Ramli burger instead.

sound advice

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

for 2 days in a row, i had a little talk with my friend who was facing a bit of office politics in his workplace. As usual, i listened. I have not work in such an environment b4. Because i was never in any high position last time. So, no one would want to disturb a small fly.

but i did gave a piece of my mind after listening to his story and turned out there were a few good points that he could use during his meeting. It was good to know that he could use those for his defense and attack during his meeting. I am glad i was at good help to him. But it didn’t come naturally for me, i think. It could have been many yrs of listening and watching my other friends tackling their own office politics. it is good to know also that he covered his tracks promptly.

this brings me back to my own matters now. ermm…now i realized i am such a pure gemini - always doing many things at the same time and not able to handle all. so, i am such a sloppy myself. erm…maybe i shud come out with a method. if not, my matters would pile up and i will go berzerk.

bum into an old fren the other day and the first thing she said to me, ‘John, fat already oh…’ I am not fat la. just when u reach 35, somehow the flesh will bloat more oni. u see me 40 la. sure just nice. hehe.

Too Close for Comfort

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Erm…how come i dunno about this news. Is it reported in our dailies? Maybe i missed it. Is about an asteroid passing earth real close. In fact, is a miss. That would be happening in the year 2029. April friday the 13th. it was discovered last year in June but it will come back again after that.

The asteroid is called Apophis named after an Egyptian myth, it is the ancient spirit of evil and
destruction, a demon that was determined to plunge the world into
eternal darkness.

At first, scientists projected it as a collision course with our planet but late last year, they retract that statement. Alan Fitzsimmons, an astronomer from Queen’s University Belfast, said:
"When it does pass close to us on April 13 2029, the Earth will deflect
it and change its orbit. There’s a small possibility that if it passes
through a particular point in space, the so-called keyhole, … the
Earth’s gravity will change things so that when it comes back around
again in 2036, it will collide with us." The chance of Apophis passing
through the keyhole, a 600-metre patch of space, is 1 in 5,500 based on
current information.

If scientists kenot draw any conclusions this coming mths, they have only year 2013 to determine it. In 2029, astronomers will know for sure if Apophis will pose a threat
in 2036. If the worst-case scenarios turn out to be true and the Earth
is not prepared, it will be too late. "If we wait until 2029, it would
seem unlikely that you’d be able to do anything about 2036.

you can read the whole news here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/space/article/0,14493,1660485,00.html

so, we have global warming and the climate is changing, and now we have Apophis. If this happens, then you and i will get to experience it in our life time.
Its the end of the world.

feels good

Getting my pile of old n not so old clothes for recycling does feel like a bag of burden been lifted up. I have been procrastinating for the longest time now and yeah…finally, just did it. I still have another pile to go…haha.
ya man, the clothes don’t feed me anymore. No la. i am not fat. Just a lot of ‘wind’ in my tummy. :)
there are also some bags n toys in my next pile. so hopefully it brings cheers to some of the children receiving it.
and the third round wud be my old vcd player. prolly throw in with some of my old vcd movies too. cool, huh.

there’s a lot of news on the environmental issue lately and i guess i just do a little part by recycling. i still have to drive my CO2 emission car to get around. unless they come out with a cheap and affordable bio-diesel car, i certainly wud support it. I recycle all my old papers for fax and writings.

And in my house here, we practice by throwing all our mineral water bottles here in a separate garbage bag. I dun smoke (ahem…haha..i quit 3 yrs ago..so for those of you, perhaps maybe you wan to cut down on your smoking habits). How else i am contributing to the environment? When i go to buy stuffs at 7-eleven, normally i ask them not to give me the plastic bag. Ya..sometimes even 1 small item, they wud give you the small plastic bag and normally we cant reuse it again coz its damn small. so, it will be a waste and harm the environment when we throw it away. ha. i din even notice i was doing this for quite awhile.

well, the environmental issue is quite a serious one. Look at our weather these days. Extremely burning hot in the daytime and storm in the evenings. You don’t even need to know when is the monsoon season now coz there’s no difference. Unfortunately, it won’t be in our lifetime to see the effects of our doings but our children’s children. They will be living in a more hotter climate and perhaps, more storms and floods.

As an individual, most of us wud say we are too small to make any differences but if each of us do our part, we may avoid a climate catastrophe in the future. Ya…Malaysia is just too small to make any impact? think about it. If u play google earth, u will agree with me that we are really damn tiny and KL is also a little city. But look around, however tiny we are, we still have to feel the effects of the climate change. If the sea level rises up another 20 inches, there will be a vast effect on penang and i don’t even want to imagine what wud happen to Singapore.

So, perhaps YOU need to start doing a bit too.

Blue

Monday, April 16th, 2007

It has been a very blue monday today.
Had some dreams earlier this morning but the only one i could remember was - there was a news about the death of our former PM. erm..strange and weird though..i really dunno wat it means. Basically i din really have a good sleep. And a perpetual of tiredness and stress seemingly last the whole day till now.

Just watched Stranger Than Fiction. It’s a light-hearted movie about a man who could hear a narrative about his everyday life. Turns out to be an author who is writing a fictional character, in fact is pretty much him. Her characters or heroes in her novels normally ends up in tragedy and she is about to find a way to end her fictional character in this story which of coz, the guy who is real in person will end up as how she would be writing it—get it ar?

So, isn’t our lives pretty much a story? Is like there are 2 endings depending on the choices we make. Is it destiny or prefixed …or some of you may aptly put it- fate? Or perhaps, no matter what we choose, either left or right, it would end with only one ending. Is it going to be a happily-ever-after ending or a tragedy? And how would you live your story up to your ending?

Sunshine sizzles out.

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Wasted my time watching ‘Sunshine’.
Got cheated by the movie trailer. sigh.
And whoever gave 4-star rating to the movie needed to be shot dead.

The moment into the first 3 minutes of the film, i know we were being taken into disaster. When it began, immediately they tell you the sun is dying and the crew is heading into the sun and the mission is to nuclear it to resuscitate the dying sun.

I don;t think any viewers connect with any characters at all as there were no character development. Apart from the nifty good sound effects (we watched in a THX hall), there’s nutin much in the movie that really shine. Should’ve gone to watch TMNT instead. so, you are warned.

This is the cover of the coming issue which should reach the newsstand next monday. yes, it was supposed to come out last week but we ran into some problems with the printer. Some films were lost and all that. Headache. But is all good and we can’t wait to have it digitally online for ppl to browse thru. Once we have the appropriate software, we might offer to sell it online as well.

May2007_v3

the cover design is done by INSA - a graffiti artist frm London. Many thanks to him and hope he likes our magazine too.

and i cant contain myself but to show you just one of the fashion shoot for our May issue which i’ve been hoping that someone would be able to do it and syabas to photographer- vincent paul yong and stylist - Kenneth vernon for a good job done. There will be criticism frm the ppl in the industry but i predict this concept will open many doors for others to embark or experiment.

It’s nothing special in the West but for Malaysia, i consider this, a conceptual piece appealing to both readers and clients. I guess even Thailand’s local fashion mag has surpassed the kind of fashion mag we have here. So, again we are the guinea pigs doing a lot of experimental work. Too bad, the advertisers here are not as forward thinking or supportive enough to our own locally produced fashion mag. The last i heard, another men mag is going to shut down and merge with another design magazine. The articles are real good and they have good writers. So, is kinda scary for us when some of these good mags decide to stop. Sigh.

So, lets hope the advertisers will open their eyes and give us the support as we have great talents and we can make a difference locally. Do you notice that 80% of the fashion mags come from Spore?

We would be glad to have your feedback so that we are able to improve further and making sure, you as the reader will benefit from it too. Watch out for the mag next week.
